EMDR Therapy & Energy Psychology For Adults in Michigan

Go beyond traditional talk therapy.

Release the Wounds. Reset the Nervous System. Restore the Soul

Virginia Fournier, LMSW - EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist & Intuitive Psychotherapist

You’ve tried everything you can think of to feel better, but nothing’s sticking.

You’ve tried therapy before but feel like something vital is missing—that no matter how much you talk, you still can’t shake the patterns or memories holding you back. Shame, guilt, perfectionism lurk in the shadows.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) might be the transformative approach you’ve been seeking.

EMDR is an evidence-based, integrative therapy that helps your brain reprocess unresolved emotional wounds. By combining bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) with guided mindfulness, EMDR works to gently release the pain, limiting beliefs, and emotional residue associated with past events.

If you’re still feeling…

Frustrated & Stuck

Disconnected

Overwhelmed & Unfulfilled

Then NOW is the time to explore what The Healing Place EMDR & Holistic Therapy can do for you

Trauma-Informed, Energy-Aligned, Spirit-Led Healing.

Specializing in IFS-informed EMDR to support deep emotional healing, inner child repair, and lasting transformation. This approach honors the truth that we are made up of many inner parts—some that carry pain, some that protect, and some that long to be seen and heard.

Through EMDR, we gently access and process the stuck emotional memories held in the nervous system, while using the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS) to recognize, validate, and bring compassion to each of these parts. When we build relationships with our inner child, the protectors, and even the wounded parts, we create space for true integration and healing. This is sacred, soul-level work—where fragmented parts of you begin to feel safe, connected, and whole again, allowing you to step forward with clarity, confidence, and inner peace.

Clear the Blocks, Shift the Patterns, Step Into Your Light.

Hi! I’m Virginia

I specialize in using an IFS-informed EMDR approach along with Energy Psychology to guide deep, transformative healing by honoring all parts of you—especially the ones shaped by pain, protection, or past trauma. Together, we gently access and process what’s been stored in the nervous system, while nurturing your inner child and creating space for your authentic self to emerge. This integrative work helps you move from survival into wholeness, so you can live with greater confidence, clarity, and self-trust.

Deep, Sacred Healing

By blending IFS-informed EMDR with Energy Psychology, we’re not just working with the mind—we’re engaging the body, nervous system, and energetic field for truly holistic healing. While EMDR and IFS help you process and integrate stuck trauma and reconnect with wounded parts, Energy Psychology techniques like EFT tapping, breathwork, and intuitive energy work help clear emotional blocks, soothe the nervous system, and realign your energetic body.

This integrative approach allows us to address the deep layers of pain—emotional, somatic, and spiritual—so you can feel more grounded, empowered, and fully connected to your authentic self. It’s a sacred and comprehensive path back to wholeness, where healing doesn’t just happen in your mind—but radiates through your entire being.

EMDR is an evidence-based method recognized for its effectiveness in addressing anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, and attachment trauma. By helping the mind safely reprocess and integrate difficult experiences, EMDR paves the way for lasting emotional relief and healthier relationship patterns.

  • How EMDR Works

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is an eight-phase, integrative therapy designed to help you work through unresolved emotional wounds in a structured yet fluid way. First, we identify the target memory or core issue that’s causing distress. Then, with your consent and comfort level in mind, we engage in bilateral stimulation—often using eye movements, gentle taps, or auditory tones—while you briefly focus on the specific memory or thought. This bilateral stimulation activates both hemispheres of your brain, helping it reprocess the stored experiences in a more adaptive manner.

Through this process, painful emotions and limiting beliefs gradually lose their intensity and become less charged. Imagine your mind, once stuck in a loop of stress or fear, freeing itself to integrate these memories in a healthier way. As the emotional weight lifts, you may find new insights emerge, clarity grows, and feelings of self-compassion and empowerment replace the old patterns. When woven into a holistic, mind-body-spirit framework, EMDR becomes a catalyst for profound transformation—allowing you to heal the past and step into your life with greater confidence, balance, and authenticity.

  • In an EMDR session, you’ll be guided to focus on a particular memory or issue while engaging in a form of bilateral stimulation. This process supports your mind in safely revisiting, unpacking, and then “digesting” old experiences. As your brain begins to reprocess stored memories, distressing emotions and beliefs lose their intensity. The result? A sense of resolution and empowerment that allows you to move forward free from the weight of the past.

  • EMDR can be incredibly effective for a wide range of concerns—trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, or even a lingering sense that something isn’t right. By diving deeper than traditional talk therapy, you can transform old wounds into stepping stones for growth, creating a new foundation for resilience, self-compassion, and inner peace. When integrated with holistic, mind-body-spirit approaches, EMDR offers a powerful path to genuine healing and the confidence to live authentically.

EMDR Therapy

Based on the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, which believes that our minds are naturally wired to heal—just like the body does—when experiences are properly processed. But when trauma, negative beliefs, or overwhelming emotions get stuck in the nervous system, they can block that healing and keep us feeling unworthy, anxious, or stuck in old patterns. Through EMDR, we access those unprocessed memories and help the brain reprocess them in a way that allows healing to happen. As the emotional charge dissolves, outdated beliefs like “I’m not enough” begin to shift into empowered truths like “I am worthy” and “I trust myself,” helping to rebuild self-esteem, confidence, and inner peace from the inside out.
